List of the most common STDs

STDs

Sex is fun. But it can also end something so wrong. You can actually end up with STDs after a hot night on the bed. That’s not really fun!

Although most STDs are quite dangerous today because a large proportion of them cause no or very few symptoms. The biggest danger of STDs nowadays is that you don’t even realize them. If not detected in time the diseases can develop quite disturbing results.

There is only one way to protect yourself from uninvited guests in the lower regions, and that is to use a condom; every time!

Please use condoms, even if you well know your partner. After all, you never know with whom he or his ex-partners have had sex before. It’s also a good idea to get regular check-ups for STDs from your doctor or gynecologist, just to be sure nothing is missing and hiding?

Chlamydia

Chlamydia is caused by a bacterium transmitted via unprotected sex.

Chlamydia infection
Chlamydia infection

Symptoms of Chlamydia:

You can actually have Chlamydia without having any symptoms at all. But the disease can be detected with a discharge from the cervix. You may also have pains in the abdomen or genitals when you pee.

Consequences of Chlamydia:

Chlamydia can lead to inflammation of the men’s testicles and genital inflammation of women. If you are not treated on time, you may get chronic inflammation of the fallopian tubes.

Treatment of Chlamydia:

Antibiotics – for both you and your boyfriend!

Risk factor: Chlamydia is the most common venereal disease in the world.

Genital Warts; Condylomas

This venereal disease is caused by a virus transmitted via unprotected sex.

Genital Warts
Genital Warts

Symptoms of genital warts:

You get cauliflower-like or flat warts around the pubic or rectum. On the boyfriend you typically find them near the cock head. It can take up to nine months from the time you are infected to develop the warts.

Consequences of genital warts:

Genital warts are not easy to get rid of them, and once you have had the experienced warts, you may run the risk of them appearing regularly for the rest of your life. Furthermore, the virus that causes genital warts is thought to be caused by cell changes in the cervix. You are at increased risk of developing genital cancer after you get condylomas.

Treatment of genital warts:

The doctor freezes or brushes the genital warts – if they are particularly stubborn, a dermatologist can give you laser treatments. The treatment generally takes a long time and you cannot be sure to be 100 percent cured for condylomas afterwards. If you have had genital warts, it is a good idea to be checked for cell changes in the cervix when the treatment is over – and then remember that your sex partner also needs treatment!

Risk factor : Condylomas are one of the most common venereal diseases in the world.

STDs
STDs are not FUN. Please Use Condom.

Herpes

Herpes is caused by a virus and it infects with close physical contact like unprotected sex.

HERPES
HERPES

Symptoms of Herpes:

Within a week of being infected, you will get small, fluid blisters and reddening, swollen skin around the genitals and at the numb if you have had anal sex. It itches and often burns as well. The blisters burst and turn into wounds that heal after 2-3 weeks.

Consequences of Herpes:

Herpes is not really harmful (unless you are pregnant; at worst it can cost the baby life), but if you have ever been infected, the virus stays in your body for the rest of your life.

Treatment of Herpes:

There is no cure for herpes, but you may be given medication to speed up your immune system attacks on herpes.

Risk factor: There are no statistics in the area, but approx. 25% of all adults have antibodies to the virus that causes herpes on the genitals. They have been in close contact with the disease at some point in their lives. Also remember that cold sores can infect the genitals during oral sex (and herpes from the genitals can infect the mouth and throat in oral sex with nasty throat infections!)

Crab Louse or Pubic Louse (Pthirus pubis)

Crab Louse are simply lice – they transmit through close contact from pubic hair to pubic hair.

Symptoms of Crab Louse:

crab louse STDs

Crab Louse is yellowish-brown, scaly, and their small, shiny eggs are stuck on pubic hair or the tufts under your arm. In hairy men, however, they can sit anywhere on the body. The 1½ mm long little beasts live on sucking blood, and besides it itches completely crazy, if you are attacked. You can see their bites as small, bruises.

Consequence of Crab Louse:

Crab Louse is dead-annoying, but quite harmless.  However, if you have a lot of scratches, you may cause inflammation or eczema in the affected area.

Treatment of Crab Louse:

You can buy lice shampoo or over-the-counter lice cream so you don’t need the doctor’s help to identify the problem (but of course it’s always nice to be on the safe side). Also, remember to watch your girlfriend for the little beasts.

Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is caused by a bacterium and transmitted by unprotected sex.

Symptoms of Gonorrhea

Symptoms of Gonorrhea:

The most common symptoms are discharge, either from the vagina or the urethra. It can also feel like you are peeing in a glass jar when you pee. But up to 70% of all infected women have no symptoms at all.

Consequence of Gonorrhea:

Untreated gonorrhea may cause inflammation of the genital area.

Treatment of Gonorrhea:

The treatment is a pencillin or antibiotic cure for both you and your sexual partner. It is a good idea to have a control inoculation done after you have completed the treatment to ensure that the disease is completely gone.

Syphilis

Syphilis is caused by a bacterium and it is transmitted by sex without a condom or blood transfusions or it is transmitted from mother to child through the placenta.

Symptoms of Syphilis:

Syphilis has three stages. In the first stage – about three weeks after you had become infected, you just get a wound. It doesn’t have to be sore and it can kind of sit somewhere where you can’t see like in the rectum or vagina.

In the second phase, the syphilis bacterium spreads in the blood and can cause fever, headache and rash all over the body.

Consequence of Syphilis:

If the disease is treated in a timely manner, there are no bad consequences. Today, however, many people do not even realize that they have syphilis until the disease reaches the third stage, and so it can cause chronic infections of the brain, spinal cord and coronary artery.

Treatment of Syphilis: Syphilis can be effectively knocked down with penicillin or antibiotics.

REMEMBER THE CONDOM!  THEN YOU AVOID SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES.

Hepatitis B

This venereal disease is caused by a virus and transmitted via unsafe sex, blood transfusions or surgeries where the instruments have not been cleaned properly. It can also be transmitted from mother to child.

Hepatitis B

Symptoms of Hepatitis B:

Symptoms often appear 1-3 months after you become infected. You get fever, nausea, abdominal pain and your stool becomes light and your urine darkens. But not all infected shows these symptoms.

Consequence of Hepatitis B:

Most become completely healthy after 4-6 weeks, but one in every 20 infected people the infection becomes chronic. Chronic hepatitis B can cause symptoms such as fatigue and joint and muscle pain. In the long term, it may mean that you develop cirrhosis of the liver or in rare cases; liver cancer.

Treatment of Hepatitis B:

Acute hepatitis cannot be treated, but chronic disease can be treated with injections or pills. However, only about one-third of all treated respond to treatment.

AIDS / HIV

This venereal disease is caused by a virus transmitted through body fluids such as semen and secretions from the vagina.

AIDS / HIV
AIDS / HIV

Symptoms of AIDS / HIV:

The most common symptoms are fever, diarrhea, night sweats, colds, weight loss and swollen lymph nodes shortly after you become infected. However, some people do not notice any symptoms.

Consequences of AIDS / HIV:

AIDS itself is not fatal, but because the disease degrades the immune system so that the body is unable to fight infections, viruses and bacteria, you eventually die of other simple diseases.

Treatment of AIDS / HIV:

Medicine can extend the life of HIV-infected people by up to 30 years but it costs very high. It is not just a cure but a life-prolonging treatment.
