Ingredients for Steak Salad Recipe
Sirloin Steak
2 Shallots
Fine sea salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Liquid smoke, hickory flavor
¼ cup Brown sugar
2 Tablespoons Paprika
½ Teaspoon Onion salt
½ Teaspoon Garlic salt
¼ Teaspoon cayenne pepper
Oil for grill
Mixed Salad greens
Salad dressing
Preheat grill
To prepare Steak Salad :
Combine the brown sugar, paprika, onion salt, garlic salt and cayenne pepper. Use the mixture as a dry rub on the steak. After applying the rub, pour the liquid smoke into a plastic bag and add the steak. Let the steak marinate for 2 to 4 hours. After marinating, remove the steak from the bag, season with salt and pepper and grill to desired doneness. Remove the steak from the grill and let rest for 10 minutes. While the steak is resting, rinse and dry salad greens. Place greens on serving plates. If making a salad dressing, prepare it while steak rests. Slice steak and place it on top of greens. Serve, with salad dressing available on the table.
